Two barges collided near New Orleans early this morning, spilling oil into the Mississippi River. Investigators are taking aerial photos now to assess the extent of the damage. The St. Charles Parish Department of Waterworks does not believe the spill poses a threat to the public.
There’s no end to the wrongs in this world. Such overwhelming need awakens our compassion and tugs at our heartstrings—but it can also do something else ... it can, well, overwhelm us.
